What is Blu Ray Disc in Hindi
Blu Ray को Blu Ray Disc के नाम से भी जाना जाता हैं Short में इसे (BD) भी कहते हैं। यह एक Next-Generation Optical Disc Format है जिसका Development Blu-Ray Disc Association (BDA) द्वारा किया गया हैं जो दुनिया की बड़ी Consumer Electronics, Personal Computer तथा Media Manufactures जैसे – Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK तथा Thomson से मिलकर बना हैं।
Blu-ray Disc Storage Capacity
इस Format का Development High-Definition (HD) Video की Recording, Rewriting तथा Playback को Enable करने के लिए तथा साथ ही Large amount of data को Store कर सकने के लिए किया गया। यह Format Traditional DVD’s से Five Times अधिक Storage Capacity उपलब्ध कराता हैं तथा Single Layer Disk पर यह 25GB Data Hold कर सकता हैं तथा Dual-Layer Disc पर यह 50GB Data Hold कर सकता हैं।
जहाँ आजकल की Optical Disc Technologies जैसे-DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW,तथा DVD-RAM Data को Read तथा Write करने के लिए Red Laser का प्रयोग करते हैं, वही यह नया Format blue-violet laser का User करता हैं इसलिए इसे Blu-ray कहा जाता हैं। विभिन्न प्रकार की Lasers Use में लेने के बावजूद भी Blu-ray Products CD तथा DVD’s Compatible बन सकते हैं इसके लिए BD/DVD/CD Compatible Optical Pickup Unit की आवश्यकता होती हैं।
Blue-Violet Laser (405nm) का प्रयोग करने का मुख्य Benefit यह हैं कि इसकी Wavelength red laser (650nm) से Shorten होती हैं जिससे अधिक से अधिक Laser Spot बनाने Possible होते हैं। Data कम से कम Space में अधिक Lightly तरीके से Store कराया जा सकता हैं। इसलिए CD/DVD की Size में ही अधिक से अधिक Data Disc पर Fit करना Possible हो जाता हैं। BD पर Numerical Aperture 0.85 होता हैं जो Blu-Ray Disc को 25GB/50GB Data Hold करने के लिए Enable करता हैं।
Blue-Ray को आजकल दुनिया की 180 से भी ज्यादा Leading Consumer Electronics, Personal Computer, Recording Medial, Video Game तथा Music Companies द्वारा Support किया जा रहा हैं। इस Format को Major Movie Studios द्वारा भी Broad Support दिया जा रहा हैं। Total 8 में से 7 Major Movies Studios (Disney, Fox, Warner, Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate, and Mam) Blu-Ray Format को Support कर रहे हैं तथा इनमें से 5 ने (Disney, Fox, Sony, Lionsgate तथा MGM) ने अपनी कुछ Movie Blu-ray Format में Release की हैं।

Blu-Rays Technical Specification

- करीब 23 hours की Standard Definition (SD) Video एक SD GB Disc पर Stored किया जा सकता हैं।
- एक Single Layer Disc mpeg-2 Format का प्रयोग करते हुए 135 Minute High Definition Peatur Store की जा सकती है।

यद्यपि Blue-Ray Disc Specification Finalized कर दिया गया है फिर भी Engineers इस Technology को और अधिक Advance बनाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं तथा 100GB की Quad Layer की 100GB के Disc का Demonstration किया जा चुका हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त TDK ने August 2006 में यह घोषणा की उन्होंने Blu-Ray Disc का एक ऐसा Experimental बनाया है जो 200GB Data को single side में Hold कर सकता हैं।
इस तरह की Disc आजकल के Player पर Work नहीं कर सकती हैं। JVC ने एक ऐसी Three Layer Technology का Development किया हैं जो दोनों प्रकार के Data Standard Definition DVD Data तथा HD Data को एक BD/DVD Combo पर रखा जा सकता हैं। इस प्रकार की Disc को DVD Players तथा BD Player दोनों पर प्रयोग किया जा सकेगा। इसे Hybrid Disc भी कहा जायेगा, परन्तु अभी तक इसका कोई भी Title Announced नहीं किया गया हैं।
